The Our Ocean Conference on October 5-6, 2017 brought together worldwide leaders from all sectors and resulted in 437 commitments to take action for the ocean.
On this occasion, Queen Noor of Jordan, Brune Poirson (French Secretary of State for the Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition) and Karmenu Vella (European Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) expressed their support to the Ocean and Climate Initiatives Alliance (OCIA), the new project of the Ocean & Climate Platform.
France announced the OCIA as part of its commitments during the Session on Climate Change.
The OCIA Meeting was the opportunity for partners to meet once again and discuss the OCIA report, which is to be presented at the Plenary of the Oceans Action Day on the 11th of November in the Bonn Zone of COP23.
